I don't know how this happens but I think every month's projects are my favorites - each month! This month our Bags Totes Organizers box featured a design by Carolyn Bassingwaithe, who I first met in American Sewing Guild. I learned she designed patterns and this month we have one of hers - the Art Deco Purse.
We elected to do this purse in a popular cotton plaid flannel by Robert Kaufman to welcome fall. We selected classic brown and trendy grey color schemes and complemented them with a good sized curved button in a fun color for the front. The button feature is inspired by art deco as well with a curved, paisley shape. There is some structure to these bags which can be used as an everyday purse or to carry a tablet and supplies for the day if you'd like.
One suggestion I've received was to be sure to include fabric content for the projects so you know how to care for them. We will definitely include this in your Welcome Letter from now on. Thank you for the suggestion!
Our Love to Sew and J Stern Designs boxes are on their way too! In fact, our Love to Sew box features J Stern Designs because she has so much to offer and we thought the project we selected was a great addition to your line up.
Did you make a September project with our Cool Stitches Subscription Boxes? Let's see them! #coolstichessubscriptionbox on social media and be sure to post them here too.
Our featured photo is the Art Deco Purse constructed by our customer Maria Foley. Maria is an avid member and you will find an impressive portfolio of projects she showcases on her instagram account including bags, quilts, and cute pictures of her Pomeranian pup. Thank you Maria for sharing your projects!
